The Man that is Jarod
The man came down from Sydney.
A little city switchy.

For gay he would stay
the man of the day.
And boy was he proud being bitchy.

The man, the mystery, the “raging homosexual” (Jarod 2019), Jarod.
Jarod has had a rather gorgeous life for the modern world. Born and raised in Sydney he would eventually find his way into one of Australia's most prestigious universities, The University of Sydney. Spending deliciously long nights sleeping over in their grand library, making many friends and companions along the way he realised, he needed a change.
So off on his maiden voyage, across the Blue Mountains, around Wilsons Promontory and into the bay (well, he traveled by plane), soon arriving in Melbourne. For his goal was none, rather an adventure, to taste all the experiences he could in order to nail life.
Settling only this year Jarod immediately buckled down and got to work. Enrolling in RMIT he began intensive studies immediately. For all the required purchasing of Rosé and chocolate he soon found a job at LGBT charity, working in their communications team.
Today Jarod lives in Armadale with his boyfriend and roommate and still regularly working with his charity, attending AGM’s and brainstorming sessions.
Jarods position in the LGBT community comes off the back of years of participation. With regular attendance to the Sydney Mardi Gras he met many influential figures and made many friends parading in his favourite “butt-less pants” (Jarod 2019).

To capture such a man, preparation is entirely required. Damir Sagolj from Reuters says, “play and shoot, much for than you are in a situation to shoot important picture” (Thomas Reuters Foundation 2013). So following his advice I did and many pictures were taken, but only the best make it to the final edit.
To highlight Jared's colour, and to test out editing skills for the final project, key images were placed on a colourful backdrop.
But for Jarod, Sydney was already conquered, and for Melbourne, it’s only a matter of time.
